FCMA SCHOLARSHIP

Part of the mission of the FCMA is to raise the bar in our industry through education and mentoring. We do this primarily at the annual FCMA Music Workshop, which is co-sponsored by the Media Music Division of the Brigham Young University School of Music and Tantara Records. Industry leaders present helpful workshop sessions and song critiques, and are also available for one-on-one questions during an optional lunch hour mingle.

Occasionally the FCMA holds single-topic discussions and workshops for members with similar interests. We also provide opportunities for both new and seasoned industry members to interact through service projects and social events.

Through the FCMA newsletter we make our members aware of workshops and seminars presented in our area by other reputable industry organizations, including Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI). Each year there are more and more opportunities for our members to receive valuable training from some of the best presenters in the country. We encourage our members to take advantage of the many avenues available to improve our craft.

A new mentoring opportunity for our members is the FCMA scholarship program that will be announced at the 2007 Pearl Awards. We are excited to add this program to our efforts to mentor and support young talent.
